Family Medicine
Family Medicine Clinic in Plano, TX
Board-certified primary care physicians Dr. Heather Akins and Dr. Adam Kaplan and certified physician assistant Angelique Ferraris enjoy making a difference in patients’ lives. It’s one of the reasons they have dedicated their careers to family medicine. It allows them to provide medical care to patients in and around Plano, Texas, throughout the many stages of their lives.
The doctors established North Texas Family Medicine in 2002 as a city-based family medicine practice focused on delivering quality health care for the entire family in a comfortable, friendly environment. All members of our health care team engage with patients on a personal level and develop those relationships over time. When we serve as primary care provider for the whole family, you benefit from the utmost in comprehensive medical care.
Here’s what family medicine can do for you:
Preventive Care
At North Texas Family Medicine, we provide the usual preventive care services including annual checkups, vaccinations, physicals, and more. We screen for all manner of health and wellness problems such as blood pressure, cancer, cholesterol, diabetes, depression, hearing loss, obesity, and vision difficulties.
We provide counseling on health-related concerns surrounding tobacco cessation, curbing alcohol use, losing weight, and good nutrition. Basically, we take the time to get to know you and your medical worries, and we partner with you to develop practical treatment plans and health care routines that will work for you.
Care for Acute & Chronic Health Issues
Your North Texas Family Medicine provider can diagnose and treat a wide range of acute injuries and illnesses as well as chronic medical conditions. For example, we commonly see patients with cold and flu symptoms, ear or sinus infections, pink eye, skin rashes, or injuries requiring stitches or immobilization.
